This neighbor cat bugs me

Well, she's not as bad as the black cats around here. I hate black cats. I am the one true black cat. All the others are imposters.

Anyway, this old calico bugs me because she can roam around the outside world all she wants. Then she has the gall to drink from MY bird bath. Dad put that bird bath there to attract birds so I can see them and imagine catching and eating them. I keep trying to get out of this yard but when I try again, for some reason my escape route has been closed off. I think my dad doesn't like me to venture outside our small yard. Me and other cats in the family used to be able to go anywhere we want, but since we all moved into this house, I can only get outside once in a while when I find a way.

Okay, they're kinda fun

These things actually know how to play. I chased one across the yard today. Sometimes they chase me. At first it was a little humiliating for a cat, especially one like me, to be chased by a giant bird. But after a while they settled in and mostly ignored us cats. Then we started getting a little too curious (a very dangerous occupation for cats) and they started "fighting back". Well, we were a little startled at first, but then we sort of got used to the idea. Now there's actually more to do in the yard because of these giant birds. I think Mom and Dad call this one "Isis".

I guess we won't be eating them

What a letdown. I was looking forward to fresh chicken meat any day now. Now mom and dad have built a big enclosure for the giant birds. They make an awful racket. Mom goes in the enclosure almost every day now for some reason. I don't know what she's doing in there but I'd like to get in there and see what's going on.

For now, I guess I'll just have to be happy with my cat food and lounging around in the catnip tub.

I don't like this at all

These "yummy" critters are bigger than me now! They don't even flinch when I pretend to stalk them. In fact they chase me sometimes. They chase all of us cats. It's very annoying, not to mention humiliating. Imagine. A cat being chased by a bird. It's just not natural.

They're getting bigger!

Wow, this is great! Those yummy critters are getting bigger. That means more for me! I wonder if mom and dad are planning on letting us cats at them. That would be a real treat.

Ahhh! New entrance for me!

After some loud and obnoxious racket and activity, dad had a part of the house fixed up and built a new back porch for me. This one is cool. It is much nicer than the old one and only I can use it! None of the other cats can get in this way. I love this new door. I go in and out of it all day long. I look out the window and look in the window all the time. I sit on my little porch and watch those stupid giant birds running around the yard. Sometimes I use it at night which is really fun. I can't wait to bring in mice and gophers for Dad next spring!

Grrrr. Those yummy birds are locked up!

Mom and dad probably figured out I might be interested in those yummy critters so they locked them up in a big wooden box with a light inside. I can't get in there. I can't even see them any more. I guess mom and dad must be keeping them alive for themselves. I guess all I can look forward to are table scraps.
